CANON EOS 20D
General impressions: Canon 20D model is probably the most widespread digital Canon body. The Camera appears on the market in August 2004 as a replacement for Canon 10D model and was produced until February 2006, when it was replaced with the Canon 30D. Overall, the 20D is slightly lighter and slightly smaller than the 10D. The camera is relatively easy to use. Unlike the more expensive models where switching modes is a combination of pressing two buttons and rotate thirdly, in 20D has a separate knob with which to choose modes of the camera. AF is fast, accurate and reliable, and quality of the images is extremely high. Canon 20D is not very different from his successor Canon 30D.
Advantages: Relatively good price. Relatively fast camera. Good autofocus. Good metering.High quality of received images. Is mirror lock (MLU)
Disadvantages: speed and aperture are typically managed "Canon-like". No spot metering. Some of the functions of the camera (lock the mirror for example) are hidden deep in menus.
CANON EOS 300D / Digital Rebel
Overall impression: It comes to the market on 20 August 2003, with the idea to borrow the best from the body of his predecessor analog EOS 300 REBEL 2000 with the processor and matrix EOS 10D. Canon put it with the attitude to attack the lower niche market - up to 1000 dollars and.
Light, not showy, fast, typically Canon management, reliable and equipped with new lens for its time called EF-S 18-55, EOS 300D is a good digital SLR camera in the price quality ratio.
Advantages: Easy to work with a good multi-point auto and manual focus. With multiple options for manual settings, good light and color sensible, lack of noise even at ISO 1200.The possibility to shoot in the RAW mode, and without the presence of noise is a unique achievement of the Canon. Additional socket for external flash, light and unassuming camera in this class. It can work professionally in the presence of good lenses, ideal for advanced amateurs. Good viewfinder and wonderful lens kit, perfect price.
Disadvantages: It is now six years old, the same button to change options in manual mode makes it a bit non-standard to work with. Lithium battery life is short and easy to exhaust when shooting with flash. After that it needs at least 6 hours recharging to come to work in optimal condition. The plastic body is a good solution in terms of ergonomics view and severity of the camera, but it damages easily. Easy entrance of dust to the matrix when changing lenses. Must often be cleaned and should be exercised in this direction when you need such activity. Difficult to make contact with Vista and XP SP 3. Even in the presence of original drivers you slowly download the photos from the memory card to the computer.
CANON EOS 350D / Digital Rebel XT
General impressions: Canon 350D entered the market in February 2005 as the successor to Canon 300D. Produced in Japan. Plastic body allows the price to fall below 1000 dollars. Takes the place of DSLR cameras of high class amateur, but equipped with better lenses can be used for professional purposes.
If you need to define it in three words, these are: fast, reliable and unpretentious.
Lightweight (540 g) and compact (127 x 94 x 64 mm) - for some this is a flaw, but it is better with hand clamps.
8MR is enough for pictures 40 x 30cm
Advantages:
• Quick Start Guide. Sufficiently large buffer memory, which allows up to 14 JPEG or 4 consecutive RAW frames and speed 2.8 frames per second
• Fast and precise autofocus.
• Matrix transmit accurate colors.
• Extremely low noise level and at 1600 ISO.
• Reliable Software.
• Consumes very little power. Has a long battery life.
• With one push you can reach and serve the buttons for the most important functions.
Disadvantages:
• Plastic body.
• The shutter "clicks" quite strong and loud.
• The maximum synchronous speed of the flash is 1 / 200 s (1 / 500 s for the Nikon D70)
• Changing the sensitivity of ISO, white balance, metering modes and exposure modes autofocus requires repeatedly pressing buttons, but in bright daylight shown on the display is not visible.
• to user function (C. Fn) is difficult to reach through the menu.
• The emergence of new models:)
CANON EOS 450D / Digital Rebel XSi
Overall impression:
First impressions: very comfortable body, but it is made from plastic. Well, at least that they have rubberized the grip. Otherwise: the buttons are very comfortably located and it direct buttons. On the other hand - this camera is primarily for amateurs and it is not certain that all those quick buttons are extremely important.
Cool and bright viewfinder, which works perfectly. Large display, but with insufficient resolution. The famous "live view" - a large and extremely uncomfortable crap to work. Range Optimiser is a complete nothing. Highlight Tone priority, however, works very well - when activated, the image burns very difficult. Auto white balance is good too. The accuracy of color, however, must be set in the menu with two - three steps to the blue and green or everything else becomes a cheerful red - caramel. The noise is contained up to 800 ISO / still depends on the light / and at 1600 is already tangible and crease detail. This is understandable in this class of cameras. Cool built-in flash - strong enough, smart.
FOCUS: of course - fast in bright scenes. In the dark - flash helps: strange solution that irritates the human subject and delays, and sometimes directly frustrate the work. For the beginner photographer shooting with this camera in the end makes very nice pictures, but nothing more than what you can get from the competitors in this class.
CANON EOS 10D
General impressions: Very nice camera. Came to the market February 27, 2003. Robust metal construction of the body, combined with very quiet shutter (as opposed to the Canon 20D), better ergonomics (in combination with grip), backlit display, economical energy, well balanced. Supports JPG and RAW format. Matrix of 6.3 megapixel CMOS type. ISO of 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 (H).Physical size of the matrix is 22.7 x 15.1 mm., The maximum image resolution is 3072 x 2048 pixels. Shutter speed of 30 sec. to 1 / 4000 sec. There are built-in flash with Guide Number 12. Crop factor is 1.6x. The camera is equipped with seven focus points. There is also a function mirror lock (mirror lock-up) which is good for macro pictures. Supports all EF lenses. Compared to the 20D (its successor), the camera is quite slow. Working with external EX-type flashes.Personally, I use it in combination with 550EH.
Advantages:
+ Metal body.+ Quiet prison.+ Mirror lock-up.+ Reliable camera.
Disadvantages:
-Small-screen for viewing photos on 1.8 ".-No support EF-S.-In comparison with the 20D is quite slow.
General assessment: well done
CANON EOS 40D
General impressions: Successor to the well-known to almost all Canon 20D/30D - it's very similar in size and management. What makes it different: The first thing is the big display. Immediately we see the minus - albeit very large it has very low resolution. Megapixels are increased to 10. One very useful option associated with the display is the red box that indicates the point at which it is focused. ISO values are already available in the viewfinder and can be adjusted in the lower intervals then the Canon 20D. The buffer is also increased, allowing greater frame series. Extremely fast shutter, the fastest in its class at 6.5 serial photo frames in a second. Nikon D300 can overtake him after mounting the battery pack. It is also very quiet. There is some improvement in autofocus and metering. What I liked at first sight is the ability to save 3 full user modes, accessed by turning a knob. There are, of course, self-cleaning of the sensor-option pretty useless in my opinion. Canon 40D has function Life view.
In conclusion: a well-made camera, the successor to probably the most widespread models of Canon DSLR that has tangible improvements in price without competition.
Advantages: Very fast and precise autofocus.
Fastest frame series in its class.
Opportunities to save on 3 user profiles
Opportunities for more precise tuning of parameters.
Very attractive price.
Disadvantages: A small number of pixels compared to direct competitors of the Nikon and Sony / 10Mrh vs. 12 /
Large display, but with low resolution, however, everything has its price.
Function Life view, as far as ever it makes sense for digital SLR camera, is not well realized, in my opinion.
Levels of compensation remain from -2 to +2
General assessment: well done
CANON EOS 5D

Overall impression: Overall a great camera a bit slow and heavy, but solid and strong .The difference between the picture it takes and the ones that takes these with arrays of 1.6 crop is mainly marvelous .I am amazed from the details in the RAW image. If you need a body at a good price and pictures with great detail - this is your machine.
Solid body construction and well protected from dust.
This is great camera for landscape and studio photography.
Advantages: • Bigger display, unlike the lower class Canon 10D, 20D.
• Wide (Fullframe) matrix (35. 8 x 23. 9mm) allowing the photographer more space.
• Relatively good resolution - 12.8 megapixels
• Vibrant colors, dynamics, flexibility and image detail.
• Fully automatic JPEG mode in which the DSLR camera can be used by people who have recently started in photography.
• Low and High ISO (50 - 3200)
• Reduced noise is significantly higher in ISO compared with the camera of the lower class.
• Ability to change the focus screen
Disadvantages: • slower than crop models (only 3 frames per second)
• Relatively smaller display (compared to new models 40d, 50d, and his successor 5D Mark 2).
• Do not support EF-s lenses.
• There are the usual for the lower class automatic modes for night shooting portraits, fast shooting, macro and landscape.
• No built-in flash.
• A small number of focal points - 9 (standard as in other models of the lower classes of canons.
